NAPLES, Fla - Many Southwest Florida artists are heading east for this weekends Art Basel in Miami.

One local artist who will have his work featured in the festival is Arturo Samaniego.

He owns a contemporary art studio in North Naples and will feature his new series Emergence at this weekend's exhibit.

"It means a great deal. Art Basil has become the major art fair in the United States and probably in the world and to have my work there is really a big step forward in my career," says Samaniego.

The Art Basel festival runs through Sunday. The show features more than 2,000 artists from around the world.
