PUNTA GORDA, Fla.- A fire destroyed a home at 419 Burland St. and Hazel St., near Narranja St. Thursday morning. It happened at 9:15 a.m.

The house was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

The fire department estimates the house sustained $50,000 in damage and is uninhabitable now.

The investigation continues.
