FORT MYERS, Fla.- Police are searching for a man they say broke into a home and attacked a woman inside. It happened wednesday night at an apartment complex near Van Buren Street and Palm Beach Boulevard.
The victim told police that the suspect was drunk and claimed to live there. Police say the suspected attacked the woman, but she was able to fight him off.
Meanwhile, a neighbor tells WINK News, "It's a pretty common thing to come and knock when they're not their house. Sometimes they'll come after one in the morning, or later, just trying to get into apartments. They're not their house. I was pretty concerned about it because that's two doors away from my house."
Detectives passed out fliers to alert neighbors to the crime and they plan to release a sketch of the suspect tomorrow.
