FORT MYERS, Fla.- WINK News has learned that a Lee County Commissioner was cited today outside a drug house under surveillance in Fort Myers.
Brian Bigelow was cited for letting a teenager drive hs rental car without a license. Deputies say they saw that driver go into a known drug house and later drive away. They later pulled the car over for a traffic violation. The deputy saw the front and rear windows go down and smelled marijuana when he approached the car.
Commissioner Bigelow was in the passenger seat. The deputy says he became nervous, his hands were shaking and he told the deputy they couldn't search the car.
The driver, David Alex Henley, was arrested and charged with driving without a license, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and felony possession of cocaine. Marijuana and pills were also found in the car. They found cocaine in Henley's personal belongings when he was being booked into jail.
