LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. - A home owner scares off a would-be burglar by swinging a broom at him.

Patricia Rodgers says she heard the bad guy break her front window Thursday night.

The sound scared her to the point she felt she needed to arm herself... with a broom.

The 40 year old victim began swinging the stick at the burglar as he tried to climb through the window.

Rodgers efforts scared the burglar off before he could fully gain access.

So far deputies have made no arrests.
