PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office continues to search for a missing 81-year-old Port Charlotte man, who is a disabled Korean War veteran. He and his wife live in the Kings Gate community, at 1680 Britannia Boulevard.
CCSO received the call from the wife of Featherston Farrat 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. She said when she came home he was gone and so was their grey 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV with Florida Disabled Veterans tag DV1135D.
Mr. Farr he told his neighbor he was going to Chicago. It is believed he left sometime Wednesday morning.
His wife confirmed that they have an apartment in Calumet City, Illinois, and drove back and forth on the same interstate highways to get there in the past. He is very hard of hearing, wears eyeglasses, and is 6’-2” tall, about 220 pounds, with short cropped graying hair.
All CCSO deputies and all area agencies have been alerted by BOLO, a Silver Alert has been issued, and CCSO has notified all law enforcement agencies along the interstate highways from here to Chicago via Atlanta, Nashville, through Kentucky and Indianapolis.
