FORT MYERS, Fla.- The passengers on board a small plane that crashed near Page Field Monday have been identified.

WINK News confirms 59-year-old Gregory Piehl was piloting the plane and 85-year-old Donna Piehl was the passenger.

Both are in serious condition at Lee Memorial Hospital.

Late Monday night, WINK News was there as the plane wreckage was removed from the parking lot of the White Sands Treatment Facility.

The two were on board a 1959 Piper Comanche plane that crashed about a mile from the Page Field runway. It crashed into a storage pod and a white pickup truck.

Crews were out at the scene for 14 hours, until they used a massive crane to lift the plane and place it on a flat bed truck before towing it away.
