COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in an early morning crash in Collier County Sunday.

Ronald Rubio, 21 of Naples was driving east on Shadow Hollow Boulevard approaching Immokalee Road around 2:30 Sunday morning when he ran a stop sign, according to Florida Highway Patrol reports.

Troopers say Rubio hit his brakes and went airborne.

The bike turned on its side and struck a raised curb and a warning sign.

Rubio was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital to be checked for head injuries.  He was wearing a helmet.
