NAPLES, Fla. – Ted Soliday, executive director of the City of Naples Airport Authority said, “I am sorry to announce that JetBlue has indefinitely suspended its evaluation of possible service to Naples Municipal Airport until the community decision-making process plays itself out.
"This is unexpected news, and this development will be discussed during Thursday’s board meeting," said Soliday.
Naples Municipal Airport, a certificated air carrier airport, accommodated more than 87,000 general aviation takeoffs and landings during 2011-12. The Florida Department of Transportation named it the state’s general aviation airport of the year for 2012 and values the airport’s economic impact to the community at more than $273 million annually.
