FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla.- The 47th Annual Summerset Regatta kicked off on Fort Myers Beach Saturday morning.
Hundreds of sailors are participating in the event which is hosted by the Caloosahatchee Marching and Chowder Society (CMCS).
Proceeds from the event will benefit local youth sailing and marine education groups.
The activities include racing, social and happy hour events, prize drawings, and the awards dinner at the Pink Shell Resort.
Here's a schedule of events:
Saturday, October 6th:
First Start 9:30 AM for offshore Sailing School Buoy Races off Fort Myers Beach
6:00 PM Post race cocktail party at the Pink Shell resort.
Sunday, October 7th
First Start at 9:30 AM for West Marine Coastal Race off Fort Myers Beach.
Racers will finish a 14 - 20 nautical mile distance race in the Gulf of Mexico, finishing off the Pink Shell Resort.
6:30 PM 1830 Morgan Stanley Smith Barney awards dinner and party at The Pink Shell Resort, Captiva Ballroom
