FORT MYERS, Fla. - Fire damaged a Fort Myers auction business on Monday night.

The fire was reported just after 6pm at Allstar Auto Auction. It's located in an industrial area on Rockfill Road near Edison Avenue.

Firefighters found heavy smoke and plenty of heat when they first arrived.

Crews say they have to approach such industrial building fires with extra caution.

"We're always trying to pre-plan our buildings, but in cases like this, we just try to take safety in mind and extinguish that fire as soon as possible to keep everybody in a safe position," said Fort Myers Fire Dept. Captain David Jacobs.

Nobody was inside the building at the time. The exact cause is still under investigation.
