BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) - The Obama campaign is making a renewed, double pitch for senior votes, with Vice President Joe Biden appearing at two sprawling Florida retirement communities and the launch of a new effort enlisting younger voters to recruit parents and grandparents to cast ballots for Democrats.
    
At a stop in Boca Raton on Friday, Biden portrayed President Barack Obama as a protector of Social Security and Medicare. Speaking to a crowd of about 850 people, Biden attacked Republican Mitt Romney's plans for the entitlement programs and said he couldn't be trusted to protect seniors.
    
"Who are you going to believe?" Biden asked.
    
Seniors tend to lean Republican, but the Obama campaign sees an opportunity to bring older voters to their side through younger relatives.
    
Biden is to speak in Tamarac later Friday.
