TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Florida A&M University is selling the same number of football season tickets despite losing its famed band for the year.
    
FAMU Interim President Larry Robinson told university trustees on Thursday that the university has sold more than 3,200 season tickets. That's nearly the same number as the university sold last year.
    
There have been fears that attendance at FAMU Rattlers football games would drop off after the suspension of The Marching 100 for the entire academic year. The band was suspended in the wake of the hazing death of drum major Robert Champion.
    
FAMU hosted its first home football game last weekend without the band. Robinson said there were nearly 18,000 fans in attendance - including 6,000 students. FAMU has more than 12,000 students enrolled.
