PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (AP) - Funeral services are being held for an officer who died while leading President Barack Obama's motorcade.

More than a thousand police officers from across Florida and from Georgia, Virginia and Washington, D.C., are expected to participate Friday in services for Bruce St. Laurent. He died after being hit by a pickup truck Sunday while attempting to shut down a stretch of Interstate 95 in West Palm Beach, where Obama was traveling for a campaign stop.

The funeral is being held at Christ Fellowship North Campus in Palm Beach Gardens, followed by burial in Tequesta.

Gov. Rick Scott has ordered some flags at half-staff in St. Laurent's honor, and the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse is to be illuminated in blue.
