FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - Officials say segments of Iron Man 3 will be filmed in the Fort Lauderdale area.
The cast and crew are expected to start filming on Oct. 1.
The Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Office of Film and Entertainment says film locations include Dania Beach and neighboring communities in South Florida.
The Iron Man cast includes Robert Downey Jr.,Gwyneth Paltrow and Ben Kingsley.
Officials in Fort Lauderdale's film office say efforts to showcase the area are paying off. Last summer Rock of Ages starring Tom Cruise, Russell Brand and Alec Baldwin was filmed in the Fort Lauderdale area.
Other recent film and television projects include A&E's series The Glades, USA's Burn Notice and ABC's Charlie's Angels.
