LOXAHATCHEE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a sheriff's deputy shot and killed three dogs who charged at him during an arrest in Palm Beach County.
The Palm Beach Post (http://bit.ly/S0rmly ) reported Friday that the owner of the dogs is considering a lawsuit against the sheriff's department.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says two deputies went to the Loxahatchee home Tuesday to arrest 48-year-old Ricky Woodman on a violation of parole charge. When the dogs charged at them, one of the deputies fired multiple shots.
The newspaper reports Bryan Thomas was out of town when his dogs were shot. He says Woodman is a longtime employee who allowed the deputies on the property. He says the dogs have no history of biting people.
Woodman was released from jail on his own recognizance.
