TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - The first openly gay candidate elected to the Florida Legislature says he didn't run as a one-issue candidate.
    
David Richardson said Wednesday that he expects to advocate for gay issues but also intends to be more than "the gay legislator."
    
The certified public accountant from Miami Beach defeated three other Democrats during Tuesday's primary and is unopposed in the Nov. 6 general election.
    
He said he'll push for legislation to outlaw employment discrimination based on sexual orientation. He also wants to put his accounting background to use on the state budget.
    
Richardson said he's going to be a representative for everyone in District 113.
