FORT MYERS, Fla.- An accident at 12510 Metro Parkway, near Crystal Dr. claimed the life of 21-year-old Gilbert Williams III Wednesday evening.

Williams was thrown from his motorcycle after hitting a car that was pulling out of a parking lot, attempting to cross the northbound lanes of Metro Parkway.

The driver and passenger of the other vehicle were not injured.

Traffic was blocked for hours as emergency crews worked on the scene.
