LEE COUNTY, FL - Garrett Gablehouse works in the Children's Hospital in Healthpark. He can be found walking the halls on his daily rounds, pushing a book cart. He ensures kids who want something to read have a good book to help pass the time. But there is more to Gablehouse's work. He is a certified teacher and holds class for all who can participate. From one on one classes to small groups Gablehouse raises awareness and spirits at the same time. He teaches young people from kindergarten to college. He maintains contact with their school teachers to make sure he is giving kids in the hospital up to date instruction. Gablehouse says his time with his students is more than just instruction. He says, "it gives them a chance to forget what they are actually here for."
