COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- A 46-year-old worker with Affordable Marble & Granite was transferred to the hospital after a large piece of granite fell on top of him Thursday afternoon.

Workers say they were carrying a piece of granite out of the work truck when the victim tripped and the granite fell on top of him. The victim was able to push the granite off himself and was conscious. He went inside and laid down.

The granite was estimated to weigh 350 lbs. and fell on the victim's abdomen. The slab measured 96 x 26 inches.

Emergency workers arrived on the scene and medflighted him to Lee Memorial for internal injuries.
