ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Florida Senator Marco Rubio tweeted Saturday night that his campaign trip was interrupted when his plane had to make an emergency landing in Albuquerque.
Rubio was en route to a campaign appearance for Mitt Romney in Des Moines, Iowa, departing from Las Vegas, when the plane landed in New Mexico. Rubio tweeted that a replacement plane could not arrive in time, so he delivered his remarks via cell phone.
It wasn't the first airplane issue for Rubio on the day.
"Not one, but two planes I was on today had malfunctions," Rubio tweeted. "Second one forced to make emergency landing in New Mexico. I know how to take a hint!"
There's no word on why Rubio's plane was forced to make an emergency landing.
