NAPLES, Fla - From Gap to Gucci, if you're in the market for a designer dress, the PACE Center's Love that Dress fundraising event should be on your calendar.
Love that Dress is a major fundraising event for the PACE Center for Girls in Collier County and Lee County.
"In the past 25 years, we've helped 25,000 girls and it provides education, counseling, training and advocacy for at risk girls," says Michelle Jones, Secretary of the PACE Center for Girls of Collier County.
Wednesday night, volunteers held a collection event at Blue Martini. It's one of dozens throughout the summer, where women of Collier County donate designer dresses. People can then buy those dresses at the Love that Dress fundraising event August 29th paying anywhere from $10- $40.
100 percent of the proceeds go directly to the PACE girls of Lee and Collier County.
"These girls come from unimmaginable backgrounds and PACE allows them to find their voice, gives them the spirit to succeed, they learn they are worth something and that they can accomplish anything," says Jones.
The PACE Center for girls has locations throughout Florida. The non-profit and the Love that Dress fundraiser help troubled teens apply for scholarships, graduate from high school and attend college.
"Helping one girl at PACE saves the tax payers $36,000 per girl by preventing them from going into the juvenile justice system so it is an amazing program," explains Jones.
The Blue Martini dress collection event brought more than a hundred people. Each one with a special dress in hand to help a special girl in need.
Tina Feola of Naples says, "people want to buy and help out these young girls and what better way to give dresses you've enjoyed and now they can enjoy."
The Love that Dress fundraising event is August 29th. There is one in Naples and one in Lee County that same night.
Drop off sights are located throughout the area and more collection parties are scheduled in the coming weeks.
