GLADES COUNTY, Fla.- A 17-year-old boy was attacked by an alligator while swimming in the Caloosahatchee River in Moore Haven at 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
The boy lost his right arm from the elbow down. Only WINK News was there as the gator wascaptured and the victim's arm was recovered.
He was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital, but may still be transferred to Tampa General Hospital. The teen has been listed in serious condition.
Eyewitnesses estimate the alligator to be between 10 and 12 feet long.
