FORT MYERS, Fla. – Fort Myers fire fighters responded to an apartment fire at The Dean Suites in downtown just before noon Sunday. Fire fighters told WINK News no one was home at the time, but the family’s dog was there. Pictures from our partners at the News Press showed a fire fighter carrying out a long-haired dachshund from the apartment. Officials said the apartment and apartments below had some water damage from the sprinklers going off. Ford’s Garage restaurant was also closed for part of the afternoon while fire fighters cleaned up the area. No one was injured and officials are still investigating the cause.
