FORT MYERS, Fla.- Fort Myers Police swarmed the Dean park neighborhood, near downtown Fort Myers, Friday morning. A woman was attacked in her home on the 2700 block of Michigan Avenue near Cranford.
Fort Myers crime units were on the scene for much of Friday morning. A female victim is in the hospital, after a suspect invaded her home, stabbed her and stole her vehicle.
Neighbors say the victim lived alone and was attacked early Friday morning. Investigators were in and out of the house, dusting the doorway and gathering evidence.
Neighbors have spent much of the morning looking for the victim's dog. It was hit by a car nearby and they've taken it to a veterinarian to get checked out.
The suspect was captured at Jones Walker apartments around 1:00 p.m.
