NAPLES, Fla. - Skaters are inviting you to join them at The Edge Johnny Nocera Skatepark at Fleischmann Park in Naples on Thursday, June 21 for Go Skateboarding Day 2012.  The event is a celebration of the start of summer and will include plenty of skating fun and family activities as well.  The event runs from 3:00 to 8:00 pm and Go Skateboaring Day is free to everyone to come check out.

Go Skateboarding Day starting in southern California in 2003 as a kickoff to the summer and has grown into a worldwide event celebrated every June 21st.  This is the first Go Skateboarding Day event for Naples.  It will include demonstrations by top area skaters, trick competitions, and races.  You'll also hear live music, be able to see local artist, Juan Diaz creating graffiti art for the park and you can even bid on a special mural made of skateboards, painted by Diaz. 

In addition to skating, the event also has other family activites including a bounce house and a rock climbing wall.

Sponsors of the event are also providing 100% of proceeds raised to local, family-focused, non-profit organizations.
