LARGO, Fla. (AP) - A Tampa Bay area handyman has been sentenced to life in prison for killing one of his customers.
A Pinellas County judge sentenced 59-year-old Thomas Lafoe on Friday after the man pleaded guilty to murder.
The Tampa Bay Times (http://bit.ly/Lr2gZ8 ) reports that Norton was found dead in his house two years ago with his head bashed in. Norton acted in theaters around the Tampa Bay area and managed the drama program at Shorecrest Preparatory School in St. Petersburg. A medical examiner determined Norton was struck in the head with the handle of a fencing sword he used for mock stage combat.
Lafoe, who mowed the Norton's lawn, was caught on store cameras using Norton's credit card the day before the body was discovered.
