NAPLES, FL - St. Matthew's House needs room to they have the land to do it.

An anonymous donor put up the money to purchase more than 2 1/2 acres of property directly adjacent to the charity.

Vann Ellison, St. Matthew's House C.E.O. says he'd been eyeing the property for years and was suprised with the donor came forward and made the offer. That donation comes on the heels of a big battle in Bonita Springs where civic groups and others protested a proposal to build a homeless shelter in the city.

Now Ellison says the Bonita Springs plans are on hold and the charity will focus on what to do with the new east Naples property.
