FORT MYERS, Fla. - As the only trauma center on the gulf coast between Tampa and Miami, the Trauma Center at Lee Memorial Hospital treats more than 2,000 patients per year.  Trauma centers like this one are required, by state law, to have a specific number of trauma-certified doctors and surgeons on staff and on-site 24 hours per day.

Every year, in conjunction with National Trauma Awareness Month (May), the Lee Memorial Trauma Center recognizes members of the community who've been affected by trauma, keep a positive outlook, and pay it forward to others.

During this month's "Second Chance Celebration" Lee Memorial recognized a trio of Gulf Coast High Schoo students.  Rick Beaubrin, David Torres, and Chris Mad teamed up to write, shoot, edit, and produce their own music video to support the Lee Memorial Trauma Center.  Beaubrin raps about a personal, traumatic story of a close friend.  Torres produced the video and joins Torres on camera, while Mad is credited as director.
