LEE COUNTY, Fla. - About a dozen bands will put on a benefit concert to support the Pekes and Pals Canine Rescue in Lee County.  Peggy Dunn has been running the dog rescue for about 20 years, and established Pekes and Pals as a non-profit in 2003.  She currently has about 30 dogs she's rescued and hopes to find homes for the animals.

A previous fundraiser helped to develope a "puppy cottage" so the animals can come and go as they please.  Now she hopes to add a large fence around the area to give the dogs more play room.  Dawn Sellari and Hot Topic Band are hosting Rock and Rescue II at the Town Center at the Brooks, Sunday May 6th to help raise money for Pekes and Pals.

Performances start at 5:00, the gates open at 4:00 and they are asking for a $20 donation to help the rescue.
