NORTH NAPLES, Fla. - Naples newest pizza restaurant is doing it a little different than anyone else. Truly Organic Pizza is the first and only USDA-certified pizza eatery... anywhere. From all the ingredients in the pizza, down to the cleaning supplies, Truly Organic Pizza is 100% organic, and it has to be.
Owner, Jason Chang says the certification process through the USDA was long and tedious, including a 300-page application and a four hour inspection. But it doesn't end there. To keep that USDA seal, Chang's pizza eatery needs to maintain the organic process at all times and is even subject to random inspections to keep him honest. "You can just say you're organic, you have to prove it," says Chang.
Chang says he got the idea by trying to find something better to feed his children, who he admits aren't exactly fans of healthy foods. He created 12 signature pies which range from a meat-lovers dream (The Carnivore) down to the perfect vegetarian option (The Tree Hugger).
He does have drinks. Try a flavored tea, which is also USDA-certified organic.
The shop is open everyday, 11:00 am to 11:00 pm and delivers anywhere in a 5-mile radius.
It's located at 1016 Immokalee Rd. #204 in Naples, inside the Granada Shoppes at the corner of Immokalee Rd. and U.S. 41.
