BONITA SPRINGS, Fla - Fire crews are continuing to mop up the land charred by a fire East of Bonita Springs. The fire off Bonita Grande Drive is now 100 percent contained, but hot spots were still popping up Thursday.

Brush trucks from the Florida Forestry Service are plowing through the area to put out any smouldering spots.

Joe Petroske was the first to call 911 while working at his hunting camp Wednesday. "I smelled smoke and I saw the flames. It was just an instant and within five minutes it was in our camp here."

The area has a lot of dense brush and is used by ATV riders. Fire officials ask people to be careful because the dry conditions can easily lead to accidental fires.

One home and an equestrian camp were evacuated because of the fire.  No one was injured.
