CAPE CORAL, FL - At a special meeting, Cape Coral's city council voted to allow staff to participate in a county land auction on Monday. The 491 parcel package deal contains land scattered across the northwest section of the Cape. City leaders say the money to participate in auction will come from a fund generated from residents water and sewer payments. Mayor John Sullivan was the only one to vote against participating in the auction saying he did not agree with the short notice of the meeting and he also disagreed with spending money from the fund.
