CAPE CORAL, Fla.- Cape Coral parents who were arrested for leaving their one-year-old son in a hot car last summer have avoided trial by taking a plea agreement, according to our partners at the News-Press.
The baby later died.
Michael Clark, 27, and Kathleen Jennings, 24, agreed to one year of community control followed by four years probation. Other conditions include 20 hours of community service for each parent speaking to a class about the dangers of leaving a child in the car, completion of a parenting class and mental health and drug and alcohol evaluations.
