OCKLAWAHA, Fla. (AP) - Fire officials say a man and his dog died in a mobile home fire near Ocala.
    
Marion County Fire Rescue officials say the mobile home was engulfed in heavy smoke when they arrived at the subdivision in Ocklawaha on Wednesday.
    
The Ocala Star-Banner (http://bit.ly/GXNda1 ) reports firefighters found 57-year-old Robert Gavin in a bedroom of the burning home. His pit bull-mix was found dead outside, near the front of the home.
    
Officials say it wasn't clear what started the fire. The case is under investigation by the medical examiner's office, detectives and the State Fire Marshal.
    
Neighbors told the newspaper Gavin had lived in the area for eight years.
