LEE COUNTY, Fla.- In a statement released by Direct Air on Thursday, the company commented on their financial difficulties and the cancellation of their flights earlier this month.

The statement read, in part:

"Current management is conducting a comprehensive forensic investigation regarding the management and operation of Direct Air prior to the bankruptcy filing. Other relevant information is likely to be produced in the course of the bankruptcy proceeding. Direct Air will address these and related matters solely in the context of the bankruptcy proceedings and in government investigations, with which the current management is cooperating fully. The current management and majority owners of Direct Air strongly disagree with the claims being made by certain former executives who are wrongly denying their responsibility for the financial situation facing the company and the damage caused to the company and its customers. However, in light of the company’s ongoing bankruptcy proceedings, neither Direct Air nor its advisors will respond to these, or any other, allegations through the media."
