NAPLES, Fla -- More than a dozen Bealls employees say they broke out in a rash while working at the department store.

Some of the employees say the rash is so bad, they're unable to work and to make matters worse, their workers compensation requests have been denied.

The store in question is at 3701 Tamiami Trail East in Naples. WINK News was unable to get any comment from the department store, but the Collier County Health Department confirms to WINK News they are investigating a rash outbreak in the community. Two employees tell WINK News the health department has been in contact with them.

Nicole Sireci started working at this Bealls Department store in October of 2011. Then, on February 4th she says she broke out in a rash.

"It's itching, it's burning, I mean my head even itches, it's just non stop," says Sireci. Doctors put her on several medications, but six weeks later scars remain on her back.

"Everytime I went back to work it got worse," Sireci said.

Another employee who wishes to remain anonymous shares a similar story. She says, "I have it on my back, chest, stomach, buttocks, legs and it just itches like crazy. I just itch and itch and itch. There's nothing out there that can take it away other than taking a cool shower."

She says she has been unable to work for more than two months. She filed a workers compensation claim only to receive a letter that she'd been been denied.

She insists the rash came from working at Bealls. "I would come home, take a shower and it would cool down and then I'd go back to work and it would flare right back up again."

In all 19 employees say they have contracted the skin rash, but the workers say Bealls management has done nothing to fix the matter.

"My frustration is there are other people that live in the area that shop there and they don't know if they get a rash, they don't know if it's coming from there," said Sireci.
