LEE COUNTY, Fla.- A teenager apparently dropped his cell phone as he fled a home in Lehigh Acres. Deputies later connected the teen to a break-in at the home, after the teen's uncle tracked the phone to the scene of the crime.
"I am just glad that he dropped the phone and we got lucky," said Delirys Cruz, who was at home when two teens broke into her home. The entered through a sliding glass door at the rear of the house.
"I am angry that they did this and we are lucky the one was caught. I don't know if was dumb or what, or just dropped the phone in his run out the door, but I am glad that he is caught. He is young and hopefully will not do this again," Cruz added.
"I am just upset that they came into our house, where we are supposed to feel safe. To come into our place of privacy, that is just too much," said Hernan Cruz.
Lee deputies arrested a 17-year-old. He is facing charges of burglary and criminal mischief. They have not yet arrested the second suspect.
