LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.- A juvenile was arrested for burglary on Tuesday after his cell phone was located on the victim's property, located on Yvonne Ave. in Lehigh Acres.
The victim reported that a man knocked on the front door and then entered the home by prying open the sliding glass door. The victim's brother went into the living room, only to notice two individuals in his sister's home. The suspects saw the man and fled.
After deputies arrived, a male subject drove up to the residence, claiming he was looking for his 17-year-old nephew's cell phone. He told officers he had tracked the cell phone to that location.
The 17-year-old was detained, but neither of the victims identified him as a possible suspect.
Based on investigation, evidence obtained and a confession by the suspect, the juvenile was arrested for the crime.
