LCSO and Cape PD search for missing 8-year-old

LEE COUNTY, Fla.- UPDATE: The child has been located. The boy reportedly wondered off to play basketball, without telling anyone, and was missing for two and a half hours.
An 8-year-old boy was walking to the park when he went missing on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Lee County Sheriffs Office.
Both the LCSO and the Cape Coral Police Department are looking for the child, who was last seen on NE 23rd Place on the the border of Cape Coral and North Fort Myers.
LCSO has a helicopter involved in the search.
Officers are also looking in the area of NE 1st Terrace and NE 3rd St.
Anyone who might know the boy's whereabouts is asked to call the LCSO at (239) 477-1000.
