COCONUT CREEK, Fla. (AP) - Police say a caretaker left a 95-year-old woman in a car for almost two hours while she went gambling in a South Florida casino.
Authorities say 53-year-old Mary Holly fainted Monday during her initial court appearance. She's charged with one count of neglect of an elderly person.
The South Florida Sun Sentinel (http://sunsent.nl/Azd4zu ) reports Holly was arrested after a visitor to the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek called police after noticing the elderly woman sitting inside the car.
Police say Belle Sapstein couldn't answer basic questions about herself. The newspaper reports the casino's surveillance video shows Holly driving into the parking lot at 4:49 p.m. Sunday. An officer was dispatched at 7:07 p.m.
Sapstein was taken to a hospital for observation.
No phone number was immediately available for Holly.l
