LEE COUNTY, Fla.- The search is on to find a new president for Edison State College.
Tuesday, local business leaders met with the company charged with filling the position to give their input. This was the first of several forums this week.
The consultant heading up the search says he hopes these open assemblies will paint a better picture of the type of candidate they're looking for.
As Edison State College looks to bring in a new leader, they're reaching out to the community, hosting forums across four counties for insight.
The turnout at the Tuesday morning kick-off was small, but business leaders who attended say they have big expectations for the next president.
The search committee hopes choosing a visionary candidate will help Edison come out stronger than it was before the scandals that led to the termination of former president, Dr. Kenneth Walker.
The public has three more opportunitites to chime in: Tuesday night at the Hendry-Glades Center, Wednesday morning in Naples and Thursday morning on the Edison State Charlotte Campus.
