NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla.- A vehicle collided with a building in North Fort Myers on U.S. 41.

Three people were injured when a car crashed into the Kimberly's Hallmark store in Merchant's Crossing. The car drove completely inside the store and through to the vacant neighboring hair salon, after the driver had a "medical event."

The investigation revealed George Yurcevich, 68, of Greensburg, Pennsylvania was driving his 2008 Ford Mustang northbound on the roadway in front of the Hallmark store. His wife, Kathleen Yurcevich, 68, was a passenger. The driver suffered a medical event which caused him to crash into the building.

Two women in the store were injured. Nancy Mason, 74, of North Fort Myers, was a clerk in the store and she suffered a large laceration to her head and possible back injuries. Marie Contrastano, 83, of North Fort Myers, was a customer in the store. She suffered a laceration to her hand.

The driver was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital for evaluation. Both women were transported to Lee Memorial Hospital to be treated for their non life-threatening injuries. The passenger was not injured.

This is the same Hallmark store that was burglarized in January. Thieves ransacked the store, taking $35,000 in merchandise. At the time, their entire collection of Vera Bradley purses were swiped, along with other pricey figurines and keepsakes. The suspects entered by prying open the back door.
