Prescribed burn in Lehigh reduces chances of wildfires

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.- The Caloosahatchee Forestry Center is conducting a prescribed burn Thursday, Feb. 9th in Lehigh Acres at 58th St. W and Gene Ave. N.
residents should be advised that several blocks will be burned.
The Forestry Center says that prescribed burns reduce the density of vegetation and the risks associated with catastrophic wildfire. Regular prescribed burns help ensure safety, promote healthy forests and enhance wildlife habitat.
