MARCO ISLAND, Fla.- A Marco Island resident was arrested for aggravated battery after using his wife's phone to lure a man to their home and beat him with a baseball bat.
On Thursday at 2:30 in the morning, Marco Island Police Officers were dispatched to the 100 block range of Bald Eagle Drive in reference to a man being beaten by another individual with a baseball bat, in the street.
Upon arrival, Officers found an individual identified as Abdelmajid Samir, who reported he was chased and beaten by a male with a baseball bat.
An investigation determined that Samir was lured to a home on Bald Eagle by 38-year-old Marco Island resident Chanel Noel. Noel used his wife’s cell phone to send text messages to Samir. The text messages lead Samir to believe that Noel’s wife was asking him to enter the house through an unlocked rear door in order to facilitate a rendezvous between himself (Samir) and Noel’s wife.
Upon Samir’s arrival at the Noel home, Chanel Noel attacked Samir with a baseball bat, causing injuries. Samir was transported to Physicians Regional Hospital for treatment of his injuries, and Chanel Noel was placed under arrest for Aggravated Battery (Second Degree Felony) and transported to the Collier County Jail.
