LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Lee County officials have met with the Washington Nationals baseball team, regarding possible use of City of Palms Park.
Commissioners Tammy Hall and Ray Judah met with representatives of the Nationals last Friday. The Boston Red Sox are leaving City of Palms, and Lee would like to find another Major League team for spring training.
Lee officials have talked with the Nationals, off and on, for a couple of years. The Nationals have a contract to train in Melbourne, on the east coast, for the next several years.
