NAPLES, Fla. - With each stroke of her paintbrush Hannah Kandel is pouring out her heart. The 19-year-old is autistic, she couldn't speak until she was six years old, but she could always paint.
Her art work is about to go international. Her painting "Crazy Love" will be featured on a stamp for the United Nations Postal Administration, as it recognizes World Autism Day on April 2nd. Hannah is one of eight artists chosen.
"It's a wonderful expression of acknowledgement and acceptance," said Merrylee Kandel, Hannah's mother who started early intervention work with her daughter when she was only 18-months-old.
Hannah is working on her GED and hopes to go to college in the future.
The stamps can not be used outside of the UN, but they make for great collectables.
