FORT MYERS, Fla.- The man who plead guilty to killing a convenience store clerk now wants to take his plea back. But a judge said no.
Chad Moreland appeared in front of a judge saying he didn't understand his plea deal.
Moreland told a judge he wanted 40 years in prison, not life.
Moreland killed Gerry Rabon, who was a convenience store clerk and was also part of the Lee County Sheriffs Office Explorer Program.
Moreland said his attorneys didn't explain to him what the plea entailed, but the judge did not agree. Rabon's mother, Gayle, said after four and a half years, her nightmare is over.
Moreland's sister, Iris, will be sentenced next month for her role in the killing.
