FORT MYERS, Fla.- New details are surfacing about a Fort Myers murder. Wednesday night, a 26-year-old man was shot to death on Pauldo Street. Thursday afternoon, police are still looking for the shooter.
The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Travis Burton. According to police, he was shot multiple times and was found dead inside the residence around 7:30 p.m.
People from all over the neighborhood gathered around to see what was going on. Burton's family and friends were also on scene and very distraught over the news.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation. Burton did not live at this home, according to police he lives in Lehigh Acres. Police are still searching for the suspects and are urging people to come forward.
Even City Councilman Johnny Streets is getting involved. He represents this area and told WINK News he's concerned about the crime increase. He said in order for it to stop, witnesses and neighbors need to come forward and report the crime.
