PUNTA GORDA, Fla.- The man and woman who live at a Punta Gorda home where a newborn infant was found in the freezer, will be allowed to visit the woman's three children.
Kevin Garcia and Jessica Smallwood appeared in front of a judge Thursday morning in a follow-up custody hearing. The children were removed from the couple following the discovery of the infant's body Monday night. The judge ruled that the children will be staying with a relative for now, but Smallwood will have unlimited supervised visits.
The police department is waiting on results from an autopsy of the infant before they decide how to move forward.
